Unlike an Homeowner’s Association, The Aquitania is a residential corporation and operates under the entity name: 5000 North Marine Drive Corporation. The Aquatania Board of Directors is comprised of nine shareholders who have fiduciary responsibilities to lead the corporation according to the governing documents. Each month, the Board members have business actitivites that consist of Commission recommendations, budget items, building maintenance among other matters that include voting to make corporate decisions for the building.
Board meetings are open to all shareholders to attend. We value your perspective and would love your participation and involvement in the corporation.
The Board of Directors consult with Commissions that conduct research and make recommendations to the Board.
At The Aquitania, our commissions are:
House Commission - review employee duties and issues, cosmetic and decorative elements of the building, landscaping, website design.
Finance Commission - create the annual budget, secure loans on behalf of the corporation, provide advice on how to invest funds, determine monthly assessments.
Maintenance Commission - review bid documents for all maintenance and construction projects, direct all work in progress, review shareholders’ remodeling requests.
Eligibility Commission - review new shareholder application packets.
